Which package is best for you?
Your experience, goals, time constraints and budget will all be determining factors on which lesson package is ultimately going to be best for you. The scenarios below are an attempt to help you figure out what might be the best course of action but please don’t hesitate to give me a call on 07778 517659 or send me an email at ben.ross@windleshamgolf.com to discuss the details.
Beginner golfers looking to get up to speed quickly
At the beginning there can be quite a lot to take in, so a weekly 60 minute lesson is ideal in order to start you on the right path. We would then look to space these out depending on your available time for practice.
Big ambitions for your golf but little time to practice
In this scenario I would suggest that a weekly session of an hour or more would be the best option. Sometimes it’s just not possible to find time between lessons to practice but keeping a regular lesson going will outweigh the lack of practice time and keep you heading in the right direction.
Plenty of time to practice but restricted budget for lessons
I would suggest a 60-90 minute lesson every 3 – 4 weeks. We’ll highlight and work on some specific areas within the lesson and set-out some practice priories for you. We will then look at the progress made in our following lesson and adjust the practice priorities accordingly.
Monthly tune up
A monthly tune up is often the right way to go for club players who play a lot. 30 mins or an hour on a single element of the game is usually enough to keep you on track!
Lots of time and big ambitions
A 2 hour lesson every 2 – 3 weeks is ideal in this scenario as it will allow us to keep you moving forward in all areas of the game. We will set practice priorities for you to focus on between sessions and will review them in the following session.
Elite Amateurs & Professional players
Clearly you already play to a very high level and our sessions will be spent fine-tuning the areas of the game which will make the biggest difference to your scoring. Ideally 2 hours every 2-3 weeks is the best option with regular online catch-ups and analysis in-between to keep you on track. For professional players, performance related payment is an option so please contact me for details.
Junior Development
Junior lessons are available in the same time allotments as adults but at a discounted rate. Please see some recommendations below on what I feel is the best way to go with regards to time and regularity. Packages can be tailored to suit your needs so please contact me to discuss lesson options. If you are interested in signing up to to the Young Golfers Programme, please contact me directly for details.
With regards to frequency of junior lessons, a lot depends on age, handicap and aspirations. Usually I would suggest doing half hour lessons for most juniors under the age of 10 building up to an hour once their attention span and skill level increases. For older juniors with high aspirations I would suggest a 2 hour session every 2-3 weeks with practice priorities outlined in-between.
